Funny...
... in a completely different context I ran across a reference to "The Asylum" (the makers of this flick) recently. They specialize in very interesting direct-to-DVD movies. Fer instance, "Snakes on a Train" and "The Transmorphers". "Mockbusters" is the term that's been coined for these types of productions. Word is they're uniformly pretty bad. Which makes me wonder if Andrea might have run across them before?

Probably not bad in the way that I enjoy
I've seen a bunch of movies that are supposed to be bad / ironic / low-budget and while I enjoy them at some level they're not my favorite bad movies. The Toxic Avenger and The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra were entertaining but not GREAT according to my reasoning. The rare exceptions to this rule are those utterly ridiculous Sci Fi / SyFy monster movies. When Megashark vs. Dinoshark vs. Snuffalupagus comes on the air, I'll be watching and laughing.
I much prefer movies that were well-intentioned but because of bad acting, awful writing, and/or horrible special effects they are unintentionally hilarious. If you can watch Liberace sing, dance, and talk about harpsichords in Sincerely Yours without busting a gut laughing, then you have more self-control than I do.
That being said, I will check out a "mockbuster" or two and see where they fall on the Lipinski entertainment scale.
