Year Two Ideas

John S. Drew's picture

So, we're coming up on the 20th episode and even though we have the Summer of the Rift mapped out, we haven't made any solid plans yet for Year Two. What would you like to see discussed? Who would you like to see interviewed? What works on the show and what doesn't? Please take a moment to let us know here or you can email me directly at john@chronicrift.com.

It would be interesting to hear a discussion about favorite genre actors.  Not just the people who occasionally star in a big blockbuster movie about shooting aliens, but more a focus on the character actors who are regularly on TV and in movies that appeal to genre fans.

A day late and a dollar short..

Now that you've planned year two, well, maybe you can consider something like this for year three.  I'd love to hear a panel discussion on the art of the audio drama.  You guys are a great start, then maybe Gregg Taylor of the brilliant Decoder Ring Theater, Jerry Robbins at Colonial Radio Theatre, Thomas Himinez with his long experiences with the DWADs and now with Tigers' Quest.... I'd be particularly interested in hearing what everyone considers are the biggest challenges of the present, and what is the future of audio drama in the US.

Guests - Jonathan Coulton,

Guests - Jonathan Coulton, Jonathan Coulton and Jonathan Coulton.  Individually or together, doesn't matter.  If Jonathan Coulton is not available, perhaps you could get Jonathan Coulton or his opening act Jonathan Coulton.

Halloween would be a good time for a zombie discussion - Jonathan Coul...sorry, Maberry, Max Brooks, Brian Keene, maybe George Romero.

British Science Fiction - SyFy versus BBC America - who has the better scifi?

The future of comic book movies - with Marvel going all in on a big universe production culminating in The Avengers, is this the new age of comic book movies or the final stage before the inevitable meltdown?

And what is it with all these inked paper bricks people keep sending me?  They are so tedious and time-consuming and full of all these...what are they...WORDS... jesus, it's like people want me to think.  With all the video, audio and intravenous entertainment available now, why won't these ancient relics just die off?   And why is Andrea standing outside my window with an axe?

I better let her inside, it's raining out....

*blinks*

Um ... so, wait.  Am I a zombie or an ancient relic in that scenario?  Or is that not a scenario at all and I'm really there with an axe???
