Cheese Classics

What makes a movie cheesy?  What makes a movie bad?  Is there bad cheesy?  Is there good cheesy?

What movies do you have that you would classify as a sure-fire candidate for good Cheesy Movie Marathon.

And, to boot, is there a movie in your collection that most other people would classify as pure crap?

Ultimate cheesy movie, anyone?

As well it should be!

So now everyone who doesn't own it on DVD like I do can experience the brain-searing agony of that film!  If you're feeling adventurous, stock up on booze and get ready to play the Mac & Me drinking game: Take a drink every time you see some product placement.

Actually, though, that game would promote irresponsible drinking and might result in the death of many of our fans ... Okay, either try it drinking booze out of really small glasses, or else mix the alcohol with something else.  Come to think of it, I believe that when I inflicted this film on the Geek Patrol I gave everyone the option of rum & Cokes or plain Cokes.  You'll see why I picked Coke when you watch the film.

And yes, you WILL see this film, if only to witness the infamous musical number set in McDonald's, featuring a cameo appearance by America's favorite clown.

And no, I'm not kidding.

Oh,

the humanity

Cannibal the Musical

I don't know if this fits in the cheese category, but it sure sounds like it.  The guys over at Geek Radio Daily were talking about it and now I'm interested in seeing it.  Anybody?

I LOL @ Cheese!

Well, my definition of "good cheesy" is a bad movie that will make me laugh, and that I think will make other people laugh.  The criteria that seem to come up the most with my favorite bad movies are that they're either musicals (Sextette, Sincerely Yours, Can't Stop the Music, The Star Wars Holiday Special, The Pirate Movie, The Incredibly Strange Creatures WSL&BM-UZ) or feature stupid-looking monsters (From Hell it Came, The Giant Spider Invasion, Brainiac, Sting of Death, Mighty Gorga, Robot Monster, It Conquered the World, The Creeping Terror, The Giant Claw).  Of course, if I can find a movie that's funny, that's a musical or at least has musical numbers, AND has stupid-looking monsters (The Horror of Party Beach, Pod People, Mac and Me) then that's just FANTASTIC in my opinion.  Oh, and if you put all of those movies together, that would be an ultimate Cheesy Movie Marathon :)

Now my friends might disagree with what I call good cheesy (They're the ones curled up in the fetal position and whimpering in the corner because of all the movies I've made them watch) but honestly I always try to pick movies that make me laugh and that I think will make them laugh. When I see a bad movie that doesn't make me laugh (like The Adventures of Pluto Nash, which was not unlike watching a car accident), then I don't share that with them.

I GUESS it's possible that there's a movie I own that other people think is pure crap [if anyone in the peanut gallery would like to chime in?] but if there's anything *I* classify as pure crap then I don't even own it.
