I conducted an interview this morning with Thomas Deja whose book, New Roads to Hell, will be released in early 2013.  (The episode will be released at the end of September.)  We also just released the Keith's Rift episode where he and Jonathan Maberry and Gregory Frost discuss V-Wars, a shared world anthology.  It got me thinking.  What format do you prefer to read?  Do you like a good novel?  What about the novella?  Short story?  Flash fiction?  Is there any format that is not currently getting the love it deserves by the general reading public?  Leave your thoughts here and let's start a discussion.

For myself, I can read almost any short story and almost prefer it to novels or even novellas as I can excuse a bad short story a lot easier than I can a bad novel or novella.  If I invest the time, I better like it.

I know that not everything is going to be to my liking, but novels really have to hit it out of the park for me or I give up on them quickly.
