Converting Characters

Let me put this out there as my internet research has shown nothing yet.

Is there a method to convert third edition characters to first edition ones?  I ask this as someone who doesn't get third edition where a higher armor class is better than a lower one.

I have the stats for the Dungeons & Dragons characters from the 80's cartoon and I thought it might be fun to work them into Eddie's game at some point.

Any ideas?

Hope this helps.  If you have trouble finding the conversion book for AD&D to 3.0, I think I still may have it.  Just let me know if you need it.

I'll look into it, but the only conversion I know of would convert from 3E to AD&D 2nd edition.  The only way I know how to do that is to use the 3E conversion manual that WotC put out when they launched 3E nine years ago.  Using that book, you could work in reverse to make something 3E into AD&D 2E, theoretically.

I know a guy who works on the Osric System, which is the 1E rules set.  He may have some insights.  I'll ask him.

Help!

I'm pushing this thread to the top in the hopes that new members of the board might be able to help.  I was wondering if there is anone out here who knows how to convert 3rd edition characters to 1st edition.
