In My Defense, I Had No Idea What I Was Doing
I see that I was given a very generous writing credit for this episode. But in fact my instructions were along the lines of, "Stand next to Keith and follow his lead." So that's why I alternate between smiling and looking lost and confused for most of this episode. I am especially proud of my reference to the French version of Beauty and the Beast. I am less proud of (read: very embarassed by) many other things. FWIW, I got better as the show went along.
Nobody Knew
Nobody knew what they were doing as I wasn't doing a very good job at directing. I assumed everyone had seen awards shows before and that this should have been phoned in, but I was way off base there and lost my patience with everybody. Despite this, everyone made the best of it and I think a good time was had by all.
