Wow!
I missed a number of the early shows with Judy. I started towards the end of her run and then there was Andrea suddenly. Different dynamic with her and Keith. There were times Andrea was outright flirting with Keith, while Judy tries to keep Keith in check. Andrea and Keith's dynamic reminds me of Attack of the Show. Olivia Munn always looks likes she's flirting with the male host (I forget his name, but who cares?) and then slaps him down, like Andrea did.
One Episode
One episode I'm glad they never produced was the rumored animated one in which Sam leaps into an animated character. Donald Bellisario, in the fifth season, felt the show should go all out as it was obvious they were moving towards the end of the series. Since he set the rules as what constituted a leap, he figured Sam could leap into a cartoon. They would have lost me with that one. As it was, the show went overboard with the brushes with famous figures, right down to Sam being Elvis. It was a bit much.
And yes, I was one of the few people in the world who didn't mind the new version of the theme song. I'm actually glad that they kept it for the DVD set.

Magnum
I haven't watched the episode yet so I don't know if this was discussed, but I recall they were talking about doing an episode in which Sam lept into Thomas Magnum. I think Tom Selleck didn't like the idea, though I don't know if that was the deal-killer. I think that's kind of a cute idea and probably would have made a fun episode.
re: Magnum
We didn't cover that. This was shot in 1990. I think the show was entering its fourth season. If I remember correctly, that was the season Sam leaped home as a young boy.
I do remember the whole Magnum thing and I think that was going to be another stunt for the fifth and final season.
