Hello World

Yes it has been a while.  Work is busy and life is busier.

Hoping to get back into The Chronic Rift a little more, and I really want to update the sites backend and add features.  John has done a great job with what he has but there are other tools that can make the site sweet.

Back to work and I hope to be on with John, Keith, and Anthony soon.

Updates To Site (Code)

I have updated all modules and themes and the core Drupal code.

I have also taken time to change the menu to the Nice Menu system.

Everything looks good now.  Let me know of any issues.

Thanks

Long Bunch Of Days

I know a lot of people getting hit hard by the economy and the holidays this time of year.  We just reduced the company by 10%.  Hard times and a small reminder.

It is just a simple request.  If you have more than you need at this time of year (or any time of year) think about giving to those in need?

Local Food Pantries are getting stripped bare as more and more people come looking for help.  Our church fills it ours up on Sundays but by Thursday it is empty.

So take a few minutes, take stock of your plusses and minuses.  If you can spare some of your plusses the local food pantry might be a great place to start.

FIOS

Ok I spent the day off yesterday getting FIOS installed.

First off do not believe what cable say.  FIOS Kicks Their lying asses.  Speed is incredible.

Fios TV.

I have a little adjustment here.  Channels have changed numbers and my old brain keeps hitting 48 for Sci-Fi.  But I will adjust.  Also changed is the picture quality.  It is much sharper and much less fragmented.  Cablevision was freezing up all the time and no resolution to the core issue, ever.

Phone is well my phone.  Not much change there.

The install did take a long time...And I helped.  It went from 9-3:30.  Lots installed and lots learned but the time spent was amazing.  Installer was cool and explained everything.

I recommend FIOS to all.  Notice I said I recommend not I would.  I really mean it.  Great service, Great price, Great to call my cable company to cancel.

Have a good one.

Google Page Rank

Google has given us a pager rank of 1.

Might not seem like much but it is a start, the higher your page rank the higher value google puts on your web site content, the higher value the higher up you get in the search results.

So we are on the road to more traffic.  that is a good thing.

Spore--The Game

I got the game.  Concept is cool.

You start off as a cell, you eat meat or veggies (Your choice).  As you grow you evolve.  You choose how you evolve, bigger teeth, spikes, speed, poising....  Then you move to land and the process continues.

You eat veggies or meat.  You can kill or charm others.

Then comes civilization.  Build your cities and take over other cities. (This is where I am now).  Along the way you get to customize the characters look, buildings look, and control just about everything.

Next stage (after world domination) is galactic domination. (Have not played it yet)

The game is good and the play is simple.  If you die, no biggie you start over again.  The problem with the game is the DRM.

Electronic Arts has put the most heinous drm on this game I have seen in years.  To install the game I have to install EA Download manager (EA DRM PACKAGE).  To run the game you have to load the EA Download Manager.  It wants you to log in before you can launch the game.

Then EA sets this thing up to load when windows starts.  I don't know about you but I do not need a game manager launching every time windows does.  I work 99% of the time not play.

EA you have soured my view of this game by your DRM and as a result of protecting it you are going to sell a hell of a lot less of the game.  Good job.
